Admissions

Applying to ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø

Applying is easy! Once you've decided on the program you want, and read up on the admissions criteria, head to to start your application. If you have everything ready, it should take you seven minutes (or faster!) to complete the form.

Download our to understand what you need to do to complete your ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø application and give yourself the best chance of acceptance.

Programs start on the first of each month, which gives you a lot of flexibility. You can apply now and choose to start right away or on a date in the future. Whenever you choose to start, apply no later than the 27th of the month to start on the first of the next month. This gives you enough time to finish orientation and get used to the online learning environment before your first course.

You'll be able to finish the application in 7 minutes (or faster!) providing you have all your documents. However, there are some things that may add a bit of time:

  • Do you need to take the English test? Set aside another 50 minutes – you'll be able to take the test when you apply, at no extra cost
  • Want to apply for a scholarship? You'll need to answer some questions about you – each question is about 150 words, so it won't take long!

Don't have all your documents? Start your application now – you can come back later to upload them. We'll save it for you! (Don't forget: your documents can be in any language: we'll translate them for you, at no extra cost.)

When you apply, you'll pay a one-off fee of $25, which allows us to process your application.

Not at all! We can translate them for you – at no extra cost. Upload everything in your native language and we'll organize everything in-house. (Please note your application may take a little longer to process this way.)

You can take a photo with your smartphone, or scan it in.

Make sure your photo ID:

  • Shows your most recent legal name
  • Is valid within the past two years
  • Is written in English (although we can translate in-house at no cost!)

We can process your application quickest if you upload your passport. We also accept national identity cards (but as we have to translate them, it might slow things down).

Having difficulties uploading your photo ID? Check out .

Yes, you can, we'd love to get to know you! Introduce yourself and your work history to the team, so we can help you set goals and get on track.

Good question! The English language assessment is designed to test your understanding, reading and listening. We're looking for a minimum score – we want to check you'll succeed at ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø.

All ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø policies, including the rights, responsibilities, and obligations of both students and the university, are detailed in the .

This catalog serves as a comprehensive guide to your academic journey at ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø and is an essential resource for understanding your rights and responsibilities as a student.

The documents needed to apply vary by program level. For all programs, you need to submit a government issued identification and passport-style “selfie".

If you're applying for an undergraduate program, you may need to provide proof you've graduated secondary (high) school or earned a GED, by submitting a transcripts, or in countries that require a national examination, submit the results (WAEC, IGCSE or NECO).

If you're applying for a graduate program, you'll also need to provide a copy of your undergraduate transcript. If the transcript is not in English, you will need to submit an official translation.

At ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø, you may start learning after you apply and will have 60 days from enrollment start date to submit official copies of academic credentials.

You may also be required to submit an official copy of your English proficiency certificate should our Admissions Team be unable to verify your institution’s/school’s language of instruction.

Nigerian applicants can provide a digital copy of their National ID by verifying it on the (download for and )

Applicants with NIN slips should download the National Identification Commission Mobile app and verify ID using their National Identification Number (picking the option of ‘Full ID’). This allows the applicant to derive relevant information such as their full names and date of birth.

After verification of the ID is complete, applicants can screenshot and send ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø Admissions a copy as their government-issued ID. Here is a screenshot of what it looks like if done successfully.

Are you eligible?

You'll need an undergraduate degree to apply for the MBA program. ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø accepts applications globally. We understand that your qualification may not specifically say that you hold a bachelor's degree in your country, but it may be equivalent to a US Bachelor's degree. We'll be happy to have your credentials reviewed! Get in touch with our Admissions team to know if you are qualified: admissions@nexford.org

However, your degree or qualification doesn't need to be in business or a business-related field.

If you have a degree in another discipline, you'll take four 6-8 week Advanced Business Foundation courses. Here, you'll learn the baseline business skills you need for our broader MBA. Upon successful completion, start taking MBA core courses.

If you have studied business before, you'll enter straight into the MBA and start taking your core courses.

We accept mature students! At ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø, we believe you're never too old to learn. However, we cannot accept learners under the age of 18 years. Any learner over the age of 18 years is welcome to apply and start learning at ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø.

Credit transfer

ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø started reviewing requests for transfer credit beginning August 1, 2022. An official transcript from the awarding institution must be submitted for review. You may also be required to secure a credential evaluation report if you studied at an institution outside US or Canada. If you are interested to apply or if you need more information about transfer credits, send an email to our Registrar’s Office at registrar@nexford.org.

Learners may review the transfer credit policy and any transfer credit review fee in the .

ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø implemented the transfer credit policy on August 1, 2022. Applicants who earned credits for their undergraduate or graduate study may apply for transfer upon review of their official transcript. Comprehensive information about our transfer credit policy, fee, grade requirements and maximum allowable credits for transfer are indicated in our .

Want to transfer your ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø credits elsewhere? Each university has it's own credit transfer policy, so we recommend you contact them directly as it is the decision of the receiving school if transfer credits are approved.

No. If you have work experience, that's great, but you don't need it. ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø's programs are practical, which means you'll gain on-the-job skills while you learn.

If you do have work experience, we won't be able to offer credit just yet. We want everyone to start their program on a level playing field – that includes taking the same core courses and building the same foundational skills.

If you have studied at an institution outside US or Canada, you may be required to secure a credential evaluation report. ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø only accepts evaluation reports from credential services recognized by National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or Association of International Credentials Evaluators (AICE).

We’ve partnered with to help you secure an official evaluation report at a discounted amount. You can check out to start your application. If you want us to process the evaluation report with IEE upon receipt of your official transcript, please send an email to our Registrar’s Office at registrar@nexford.org for more details.

Enrolling

General enrollment questions

We get it – plans change. If you need to change your start date, log back in to the enrollment portal. You'll be able to select a new start date that suits you.

Set your start date when you enroll: you can start on the first of any month.

The date you choose is up to you! If you can start right away, wonderful. If you need a bit more time, choose a date in the future. Whatever you choose, make sure you pick your date as soon as you can. You don't want to miss the deadline!

Once you're admitted (congratulations!), the next step is to enroll. That's when you confirm your place at ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø, choose your start date and pay your first month of tuition.

You'll enroll in your online learning environment. More information and links will be in your offer letter. Stay tuned!

You can find advice and guidance on enrolling to ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø in our .

When you enroll, you’ll choose to pay monthly, in two or six month instalments. Pay your first month, two or six months upfront, and we'll set up a direct debit for the same time period. We accept Visa, Mastercard or American Express.

We'll send you a reminder before your payment date so you know it's coming. You'll also get a confirmation email when we receive your payment.

We offer multiple payment options, such as credit cards, debit cards, PayPal, and bank wire transfers. Pick the one that best suits your needs! For more information about the payment options available, visit our payment page.

If you have more questions about payment, contact us at help@nexford.org.

You may enroll at any time, but we recommend you enroll at least one week before your first course. This gives you enough time to complete your orientation and explore the learning environment before you start.

Adding courses

Add and remove courses in your ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø learner environment. It's easy to do!

Learners can add/drop from their courses until day 5 of each month: so get choosing!

Chat to your success advisor if you need help picking courses that suit your career.

Before you enroll in new courses, you'll need to meet the requirements of the ones you're already taking.

Once you've met all the requirements, and passed your final assessment, you can enroll in new courses, and start on the first of the month.

Not at first. You'll start by taking one course at a time, so you can get used to the structure and workload, and get a feel for working online.

Then, if you're maintaining good grades, you can take more than one course if you want to. Speak to your success advisor to see if this is the right option for you.

Yes, of course! If you need help designing your study plan, chat with your success advisor, or someone in the success team. They'll help you choose courses that match your career goals and help you get the most out of your time at ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø.

If you’ve had a change of plans and decided you want to discontinue your studies, you can withdraw from your program. We have a fair way of handling refunds; we'll refund you any time you haven't used. Refunds are only processed in US dollars.

Our Success Team can help you out. Just email success@nexford.org

We're here for you! If you need a break for any reason, chat with your success advisor.

The time you can get off depends on your program. Everyone has a personal leave allowance (a total eight months for BBA learners, and total four months for MBA and AAS in Business learners). You can take time off in one-month blocks – you don't have to take it all at once.

You can!

If you decide to withdraw from your program of study at NXU, this is called a learner-initiated program withdrawal. This means you will no longer have access to the NXU learning platform, your tuition clock will be stopped, and you will no longer be considered an NXU learner.

If you decide to re-enroll at NXU in the future, you can re-apply to the university after 1 month. Please be advised that it is standard for universities to review their tuition fees, and there is a possibility of an increase in fees by the time of your re-admission.

Learners who wish to self-withdraw from a course or their program should email success@nexford.org to make that request.

Tuition

General tuition questions

We believe that high-quality education should be accessible to everyone, everywhere.  Here's how we keep our programs affordable:

  • Our Mission: We're a Public Benefit Corporation (PBC). This means that while we are a for-profit company, our core mission is to expand access to affordable education.
  • Online Model: By operating entirely online, we eliminate the need for expensive physical campuses and infrastructure. These savings allow us to offer programs at a fraction of the cost of traditional universities.

In short, we're committed to making education accessible without compromising quality. At ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø, you get a world-class education at a price that fits your budget.

We understand that education is a major investment. That's why we use a tiered tuition system, ensuring affordability for students around the world.  To see which tuition tier your country falls in, please visit our tuition tier page. You can see what your monthly costs would be for each program at the top of our tuition page.

Flat, pay-as-you-go tuition fees

Traditional universities charge tuition per credit or per course. At ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø, you pay a flat monthly tuition fee. This means you can take as many courses as you can successfully handle in each term without any extra charges. If you have the time and maintain good grades, taking more courses lets you finish your degree faster, ultimately  saving you money on tuition.

Flexible payment options to fit your needs

We want to make paying for your education as convenient as possible. You can choose from:

  • Credit card
  • Debit card
  • PayPal
  • Bank wire transfer

For more detailed information on payment options, check out our payment page.

Still have questions? We're here to help!

Don't hesitate to reach out. Contact us at help@nexford.org for any further questions about tuition or payments.

We offer flexible payment plans to suit your budget:

  • Pay monthly: For maximum flexibility.
  • Pay for two or six months upfront: A potential way to save.

You can easily switch between these options at any time.

Our tuition is designed to be affordable for students worldwide. To calculate your specific costs, please visit our tuition page

Absolutely not! Unlike many traditional universities, ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø operates with complete transparency. Your tuition is a flat monthly rate, and you'll never face unexpected charges.

Here's a clear breakdown of our fees:

  • Printed diploma: $110
  • Printed transcript: $80
  • Document notarization: $100
  • Electronic transcript sent to an institution: $35
  • One-time application fee: $25

Nope!  Here's why ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø saves you money compared to traditional universities:

  • No textbooks: All your course materials are provided digitally within your learner portal. We also have a fantastic online library for research and further study!
  • No equipment costs: As a 100% online university, you won't need to budget for lab equipment or specific supplies.
  • Optional internships: You're encouraged to pursue internships or business placements to gain experience, but they aren't a mandatory (or costly) part of your program.

Let us know if you have any other questions about our cost-effective approach! Email us at help@nexford.edu!

Making payments

Having trouble with the payment screen? Here's what to do:

  1. Double-check your details:  Make sure all your credit card information (number, expiration date, security code) is entered correctly. Even a single wrong digit can cause problems.
  2. Still stuck? We're here to help!  Reach out to us at help@nexford.org.  Let us know the issue you're facing, and we'll gladly troubleshoot or explore alternative payment options.

Remember: We offer flexible payment methods like credit cards, debit cards, PayPal, and bank wire transfers. You can learn more on our Payment Page.

Don't worry, these things happen! Here's a step-by-step guide:

  1. Check for common errors:

    • Card details: Double-check your card number, expiration date, and CVV code. One wrong digit could cause a payment failure.
    • Billing address: Ensure your billing address matches the one your bank has on file.
    • Sufficient funds: Make sure you have enough funds available in your account.
  2. Contact your bank: Sometimes banks place temporary holds or have security measures that can block transactions. A quick call to your bank can often resolve the issue.

  3. Get in touch with ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø: Email us at help@nexford.org with the following details:

    • The payment method you used (credit card, debit card, etc.)
    • The date and time of the attempted payment
    • Any error messages you received

We're here to help! The sooner we work together, the quicker we can find a solution to ensure your payment goes through smoothly.

To secure your spot and get started on the right foot, we recommend paying your first month's tuition at least one week before your program's start date. This has a few advantages:

  • Confirms your enrollment: Your timely payment guarantees your place in the program.
  • Access to orientation: You'll gain access to the myNXU, your learner portal, and Canvas, your online learning environment, where you can complete the essential orientation process to prepare you for success.

Let us know if you have any other questions about payments by emailing us at help@nexford.org!

Support and funding

We understand that financial situations can change unexpectedly. Our goal is to support you in reaching your educational goals. Here's what you can do:

  • If you're not yet a learner:  Please reach out to us directly at help@nexford.org. We want to understand your situation and explore potential solutions together. This might include discussing payment plans or other ways to make your education more affordable.

  • If you're a current learner: Contact your success advisor as soon as possible. They are dedicated to your progress and can offer personalized advice and support based on your individual circumstances.

Remember, you're not alone! We're committed to helping you find a way to continue your education.

While ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø doesn't directly participate in federal financial aid programs, our affordable tuition model aims to make external funding less of a necessity.  You can calculate your estimated costs on our tuition page.

Other funding possibilities

Scholarships

General scholarships questions

Yes, we do! To support learners who are academically prepared for college but who lack the financial means to attend, ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø created the ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø Financial Need Scholarship.

The ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø Financial Need Scholarship was developed to benefit learners who meet a set of criteria to determine their financial need. The criteria includes, among other items, the employment level and number of financially dependent family members the applicant has. There are limited scholarships available each term. Each application is evaluated by the Scholarship Committee, after detailed information is provided by the applicant. The scholarship decision is final, with no appeal process.

There is a limited quantity of scholarship slots available — discuss with a ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø Application Specialist or contact help@nexford.org to learn more.

You can also visit ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø.org/scholarships to check out the terms and conditions of the other scholarships available to learners you may be interested in.

It's easy! Apply for a scholarship at the same time as you're applying for a ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø program. Within the application, we'll ask you several scholarship questions to see if you're eligible.

If you're successful, you'll get an email with a voucher code (it'll be in a separate email than your Offer Letter). Enter this code when you enroll.

We offer scholarships for learners in different countries or at different stages in their careers. Check out the list of scholarships available.

You can – but you can only apply one scholarship to your program. We want as many people as possible to have the chance of a scholarship.

How to apply for a scholarship

If you’re successful, you’ll be sent next steps via email — so keep an eye on your inbox!

When you receive your scholarship, we'll send you a voucher code. Use this code when you enroll to apply your scholarship. You only have to use the code once: we'll apply it automatically each month.

You can find advice and guidance on enrolling to ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø in our .

Unfortunately, we can't reply to individual messages. Be sure to share any details, supporting information or your personal story in your application. That way, you can be sure we'll read it.

It depends on the scholarship. Each one is unique. Check out the terms and conditions of the scholarship you're interested in.

General learning experience questions

ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø's learning experience is unlike any other. Think engaging, interactive online learning that helps you gain the skills you need – fast.

Our online learning environment contains everything you need to learn at ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø. It's where you'll take courses, chat with peers, submit assignments, receive feedback, track your grades, and access your faculty's calendars to book one-on-one sessions. It's also where you'll manage your enrollment, add courses, and pay your tuition.

You'll get access to your modules through Canvas, a learning management platform, and you can even take your learning wherever you go with the Canvas mobile app. Module materials include reading, videos, interactive elements, quizzes, and relevant case studies.

Live lectures are done by faculty once every two weeks or more often. Don't worry, these sessions are entirely optional, and you don't have to wait for them to progress in your learning or course — everything you need to complete your projects, assignments, or assessments is available through your modules.

Assessments are weekly, and you must meet assessment and project deadlines to progress seamlessly. We recommend you allocate a minimum of 15-20 hours per week to your learning at your most convenient time to achieve this. If you need additional support, our Learner Success team is available 24/7. They will also help you with transitioning to online studies, creating your study timeline, and goal setting.

Overwhelmed? Don't be! You'll get a full tour of the learning environment during orientation. You're in safe hands with us.

Good question. You might be used to learning in a classroom, on campus: but online learning isn't that different. With the learning experience at ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø, you'll still be able to chat with other learners, faculty and your success advisor, and thanks to video calling it feels as good as face to face learning.

ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø courses

Yes, there is! Learners gain access to their orientation as soon as they have completed their enrollment.

Orientation is designed to make you feel confident and comfortable when learning at ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø and should be completed before your first course.

We'll send you an email with more information about a week before you're set to start. Get ready!

Short answer – no.

Before you enroll in new courses, you'll need to meet the requirements of the ones you're already doing.

ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø courses are designed to guide you through a step-by-step learning process, ensuring you build a strong foundation before tackling challenging assignments:

  • Modular Structure: Each course is divided into six modules, carefully sequenced to build upon your knowledge and skills. Mastering the concepts within each module is crucial before progressing to the next.
  • Course Previewing:  We offer course previewing to help you prepare for your next course. Previews are accessible as soon as you complete your current course and have paid the invoice for the upcoming term.
  • Learn First, Apply Later: Within each module, we encourage you to thoroughly engage with the learning materials and activities before attempting the assignments. This ensures you have a solid understanding of the concepts before putting them into practice.
  • Practical Application: Each module culminates in a practical assignment designed to test your understanding and apply your newfound skills to real-world scenarios.
  • Feedback as a Learning Tool: The feedback you receive on each module assignment is invaluable.  Use it to identify areas where you excelled and those where you might need further review.  This feedback will be essential as you build on your knowledge and tackle subsequent assignments.
  • Final Assessment:  At the end of each course, you'll complete a final assessment that integrates all the concepts and skills covered throughout the course. This comprehensive evaluation allows you to demonstrate your mastery of the subject matter.

In summary, ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø's course structure prioritizes a logical and effective learning journey. We encourage you to fully engage with each module's learning materials before tackling the assignments and to use the feedback you receive as a valuable tool for ongoing growth and development.

You have eight weeks to complete each course. ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø is 100% online, which means you can log in when it suits you.

While you're learning, your personal Success Advisor will help you stay on track.

At ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø, we use a variety of assessments to help you gauge your understanding and apply what you've learned. Here's how we'll measure your progress throughout your courses:

  1. Module Assessments: After each module, you'll complete an assessment designed to test your grasp of the material covered. These assessments are a chance to practice the skills you've acquired and ensure you're ready to move on to the next module. You'll receive feedback on your module assessments within five days.
  2. Course Final Projects: At the end of each course, you'll tackle a final project that integrates all the knowledge and skills you've gained. This is an opportunity to demonstrate your mastery of the course content and apply it to real-world scenarios. You'll receive feedback on your assignments within two days.
  3. Quizzes and Interactive Exercises: Throughout your courses, you'll encounter quizzes and other interactive exercises that help you check your understanding and identify areas where you might need to review the material. While these aren't graded, they're a fun and interactive way to track your progress.

We believe in providing timely and constructive feedback to help you grow as a learner. Use the feedback from your assessments and assignments to identify your strengths and areas for improvement, and continue building upon your knowledge and skills throughout your program.

General program questions

We're here for you!

If your degree was in another discipline, you'll need to take our Advanced Business Foundations Certificate. Here, you'll learn the baseline business skills you need for our MBA program. Once completed, you can start taking MBA courses. This makes sure you're on an even platform with other learners on the MBA program, even those who have taken a Bachelor of Business previously.

During your program, you'll have access to a wide system of support: your success advisor, faculty and peers. You'll never be alone: we're here to answer any questions you have, and help fill the gaps in your knowledge.

Yes, all ÀÇÓÑÉçÇø courses and certificates are credit bearing.

Don't want to commit to a full degree? Learn the skills you need in a fraction of the time with a course or certificate.

Courses let you learn one specific area of business, at a level that suits you (undergraduate or graduate).

Certificates are built as a series of courses so you'll gain a collection of skills you can use. Finish a certificate in 3-6 months (the time it takes depends on how many courses you take).

As well as an official diploma, you'll get a series of badges you can add to your LinkedIn profile.

As well as this, you'll get a series of skills you can use at work (or at jobs in the future).
